How to setup dashcam in Tesla?

If there's one thing which Tesla owners love it for then it's for its dash can system. This system has been allowed owners to capture some horrifying accidents, some insurance fraud, and more which has saved owners from being falsely accused in court. As such this dashcam is nothing less than a lifesaver. There is even a "Sentry Mode" feature here which allows the cameras to record even after the vehicle has been turned off. Here are the steps you have to follow to set up your Tesla Dash Cam:

  • The set up is very easy and will be done within a minute. But first, you will need a USB which can hold around 2 GB of data storage space. You will then have to format it to Fat32. For this just get a partition manager and carry out the formatting.  Read more about tesla dashcam usb.

  • Once the formatting is done, you will have to plug the USB in a PC and then open the software. There click on the USV option from all the list of drives that are connected to the PC. Once that is done click on the "Format Partition" option.

  • Next up, there will be a pop up that will be displayed that will let you select the format you like. But to use Tesla's Dashcam just select the Fat32 option. To finish the process, just press on Accept and then select the "Apply" option present on the very top left corner. Your dash cam is now ready to be used.

You won't have to toggle off or on any other thing. Just make sure that you see the red light on your car's very top right corner display. This will ensure that the can is running. Know that everything will be saved. You might think that what will happen when the USB doesn't have any space left? Then it will just delete and then write over the older footage. But don't worry, to permanently ensure that footage is saved, just click on the red indicator. This function will allow you to save up the last ten minutes. After saving, this will be put into a separate folder. So this is how you will be able to set up and easily enjoy the Tesla dashcam for future use.
